6 NYC Events to Experience in September

The Marmara Park Avenue brings you an eclectic list of NYC events in September. New York City reopens without restrictions on July 1, 2021. That means all sightseeing, activities, and events will be in full swing this fall. Perhaps the most exciting September reopening is Broadway.

However, if shows aren’t your cup of tea, you can be sure NYC has something for everyone. Peruse our selection of events that are taking place during the month of September in or near Manhattan.

1 – Broadway Shows

The first production to come back will be Hadestown on September 2nd. Tickets for ever-popular shows like The Lion King, Dear Evan Hansen, and Hamilton will be available starting September 14th. Seeing a live Broadway show is something everyone who steps foot in New York should experience at least once in their lives.

2 – Governors Ball

2021 marks the 10th run of the Governors Ball Music Festival. Though originally located on Governors Island, the fest quickly outgrew the venue and switched to Randall’s Island in 2012. This year’s fest runs September 24-26. Headliners include Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, and Post Malone.

4 – 9/11 Tribute in Light

It is impossible to come to NYC during September without taking a moment to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. From dusk until dawn each year on the anniversary of the terrorist attack, two bright beams of light are visible in the sky in the exact places where the Twin Towers once stood. They can be seen from a

60-mile radius.

5 – Baseball

Baseball season is in full swing. You can grab tickets to see the Mets or Yankees play in NYC this September. Have a hotdog, drink a few cold ones, and root for one of our home teams! The best part? Tours of Yankee Stadium are once again available.

6 – The FRIENDS Experience

If you’re a fan of the show FRIENDS, you won’t want to miss this immersive fan experience. Ticket prices range from $45 (general admission) to $375 (private group admission). See some of the most iconic sets from the show, take a few selfies, and order a cup of coffee at Central Perk. This event is organized by Superfly X to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the FRIENDS premiere.
