2. Gomi Korean Wine Bar in the East Village
This hole-in-the-wall specializes in Korean and Brazilian dishes that pair beautifully with their large selection of Portuguese wines. Try the Monte Velho or the Pó de Poeira with a cheese board, or opt for something more traditional like Kimchi Dumplings.
3. Ruffian and Kindred in the East Village
Ruffian is the wine bar to Kindred’s restaurant, but you’re sure to find excellent wine and food in both buildings. They are located about a block away from each other, and together they host the Witchy Wine Festival, which takes place on Halloween night. This festival offers three seatings and celebrates female winemakers.
4. Bread n Wine on the Upper East Side
Unlike many wine bars on our list, you can enjoy all Bread n Wine has to offer morning, noon, and night. They are open from 6:00 am until 12:00 am, and they serve breakfast all day. Choose from all kinds of American fare, like a slow-roast leg of lamb and a Philly cheesesteak, while enjoying a glass of cabernet sauvignon or rosé.
5. Sofia Wine Bar in Midtown
Sofia Wine Bar in Midtown boasts Italian food and wines from across the globe (though the majority are Italian). Their knowledgeable staff is happy to recommend the best wine to pair with their made-from-scratch small plates.
