NYC Reopens to Visitors! 5 Tourist Attractions You Should Plan to See First

Although some have questioned New York City’s ability to bounce back from the pandemic, NYC reopens at full capacity on July 1, 2021. We’ve mourned the loss of lives as well as classic businesses that just couldn’t survive the closure.

A few of the NYC staples that have closed include Peoples Improv Theater on the East Side, Nieman Marcus in Hudson Yards, Chumley’s in the West Village, Gem Spa in the East Village, Palomba Academy of Music in The Bronx, and The Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown.

However, if there is one area in which New Yorkers excel, it’s in looking to the future and moving forward. The surviving businesses and tourist destinations are bringing their best this summer. You can even find a few new attractions, all close to the luxurious Marmara Hotel.

1 – Central Park

Since it’s located outdoors, this green oasis never closed during the pandemic. With over 843 acres to explore, it is difficult to run out of things to do. A few of the top sights in Central Park include Belvedere Castle, The Central Park Zoo, and The Loeb Boathouse.

Keep in mind that Marmara Park Avenue welcomes pets, and the park is an ideal location for dog walking.

2 – Penn Station

The Marmara is within walking distance to many exciting attractions, including Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Not only can you view the recently-completed Moynihan Station, but you can also view impressive artwork, and, of course, find transportation to more distant locales.

3 – Comedy Cellar

If you’re in the mood for a laugh, this well-known comedy club won’t disappoint. It reopened in April at one-third capacity with the support of big-name comedians like Chris Rock, Ray Romano, and Amy Schumer. It is just a 30-minute walk from The Marmara. Shows sell out quickly, so be sure to reserve a ticket before your visit.

4 – Little Island

Located a 30-minute subway ride away from The Marmara in Hudson River Park, this brand-new NYC attraction is a must-see. The public pier was developed with help from the Diller-Von Furstenberg Family Foundation and possesses a unique design that is part modern art and part landscaping genius. You may just stumble across an interesting educational program or performance during your jaunt. Time-entry tickets are required.

5 – The Met Museum

This important museum, perhaps best known for its Costume Institute’s famous Gala, was closed from March 13, 2020 until August 14, 2020. It will soon be operating at full capacity, allowing visitors to view summertime art exhibitions that include The Medici: Portraits and Politics and New Woman Behind the Camera. Ticket reservations are required. You don’t have to leave The Marmara Park Avenue to enjoy your stay in the city. With amenities such as terraces, a pool, and optional spa services, your stay in NYC is sure to be full of comfort and elegance.

However, if you plan to venture out and explore New York City, there is no doubt that you will find an event, activity, or attraction that ignites your interest.
